Position Summary:

This position reports to the Marketing Manager at corporate offices in Columbia, Maryland.

This individual is responsible for the development of technical and product support documents related to marketing and sales of the assigned product lines. Significant travel and direct contact with accounts and market segments is required. Responsibilities include other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities Include:

 The essential function of this position is to take responsibility for the coordination of all technical marketing aspects for the product line.

Additional Responsibilities:

To conduct training courses on new products for technical support prior to release and market positioning training for sales personnel..

  • To develop demonstration strategies and presentation of products to potential and current customers to support the sales effort..
  • To obtain competitive information for assigned product(s) and analyze for report to sales.
  • To create documentation for sales support materials including feature/benefit analysis and positioning strategies for each product assigned..
  • To evaluate and recommend market needs and then propose to develop and implement hardware and software solutions to meet these needs..
  • To support qualification tests for large corporate customers and round robin tests with ASTM and other official organizations..
  • Support instrument calibration procedures in house and in the field..
  • To coordinate in-house demos with in-house Technical Support and Applications..
  • To perform applications work as required to effectively position the product and analyze customer samples.
  • To produce customer support materials to further sales for the product line (such as brochures, technical notes, application notes flyers, etc.).
  • To operate as the company's technical authority on the products under area of responsibility. .

Education/Experience

The incumbent must be proficient at operating independently within guidelines and goals set by the Product Manager. Good organizational skills are necessary. This position requires troubleshooting and isolation of variables in a methodical, efficient manner.

Incumbent must have a Bachelor's degree in the physical or natural sciences with at least 2 years of technical marketing experience in the appropriate product line or the equivalent experience and a history of good organizational skills
