ob Title:Â West Coast Sales Representative, Sacramento, CA Reports to:Â Director of Sales
Purpose: (In a brief statement, indicate the overall purpose or primary objective of this position) Environmental Sales Representative is responsible for the sales success of the given region, including sales and budget performance, key customer development, application support, and territory development.
Major Responsibilities: - Achieve sales goal - Develop territory business plan - Develop sales and marketing strategy for the territory - Maintain and report detailed sales forecast for territory - Meet sales, profit, and budget targets - On-going analysis of competition and appropriate adjustments of plans - On-going segmentation analysis within territory - Develop and maintain relationships with influencers and key organizations - Provide equipment training and installation support - Support team - Support specialty and major dealers as required - Promote water quality products within territory
Qualifications: - Knowledge of water quality equipment and application - Knowledge of aquatic biology, limnology, biology, geology, or hydrology - Skilled with personal computers:Â ACT, EXCEL, Word - Negotiation and selling skills - Effective written and oral presentation skills - High level of comfort working with a wide variety of people in a variety of settings - Ability to multi-task through use of tools such as computer, telephone, and e-mail; and the ability to apply the knowledge of like or similar events into new situations - Follow through on communications and responsibilities - Four-year science degree, related to environmental sciences - Demonstrated ability to lead a territory through strategic planning and successful implementation of tactics to achieve sales goals
Other Requirements: Competencies: (Behaviors necessary to perform this position) - Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time such as during tradeshows, sit for long periods of time during travel, and set up trade show booths - Able to keyboard up to 20% of the time with speed and accuracy
- Personally confident and able to interact with all types of people - Successful history of problem solving/solution finding, listening and understanding business and equipment-related issues - Comfortable and capable in addressing large groups of people - Balancing of multiple priorities in an environment with the potential for fast-moving periods of high activity
